Lincat confirms leadership change at Irish branch

Lincat has confirmed that John Farrell will become its new sales manager for the whole of Ireland from January.

Farrell will take over from Thor Shilliday, who is retiring at Christmas. His role will be to oversee sales of all Lincat and FriFri equipment, through local dealers, to the Irish market.

Based in Dublin, Farrell has acted as sales manager for Lincat’s parent company, the Middleby Group, for three years, and added sister company IMC to his portfolio earlier this year.

“Lincat catering equipment is very well established here in Ireland, where caterers appreciate the quality of its design and manufacture. FriFri is currently less well known but I’m certain it has the potential to do well too,” said Farell.

He added: “Though the economic climate is difficult here just now, I’m confident that dealers and their customers will respond well to such a great range of products, backed by fantastic support. I’m looking forward to this new challenge.”

Farrell began his career in the commercial catering equipment sector with Whirpool. Having worked in technical and spares sales for the business’ domestic equipment arm, he was asked to lead the sales efforts of its professional catering equipment division in Ireland when it was launched in 2005.

Shortly afterwards he added the UK to his territory and spent five years working as sales manager for the UK and Ireland.

Tony Aston, sales director of Lincat, said: “We’re confident that he has both the experience and understanding to develop our customer base in Ireland and we wish him every success, with us, in the future.”
