UK catering equipment manufacturer Lincat has created a series of six videos to help dealers demonstrate to end users how to use the brand’s combi steamers.
Badged as Lincat but originally supplied by Rational, the Opus SelfCooking Center 5 Senses combis are said to be easy to use. With the ability to combine dry heat and steam, they can be used to grill, roast, bake, steam, stew, blanch or poach. They are said to save time, produce excellent results consistently and reduce energy consumption.
Lincat development chef Paul Hickman hosts the new videos and says the combi ovens require things to be done differently: “If you have never used a combi steamer before, the prospect can be quite daunting. It’s difficult to imagine, for example, how you might be able to cook an entire English breakfast of sausages, fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding and hash browns in a single unit in less than 10 minutes. One of our new films shows just how easy this is to do.”
He continued: “Other films demonstrate overnight cooking, steaming different products at the same time, baking pastries, à la carte food production and how to use the unit’s self clean system. They are intended to complement the series of Opus SelfCooking Center 5 Senses live cookery workshops we run throughout the year, which give people who are thinking of investing an opportunity to see the units in action and put them through their paces.”
