Lakes Catering Maintenance’s MD, Leigh Howard, sadly passed away last weekend.
He had been a director of the firm since 2011 and in 2016 stepped up to buyout the previous owner and lead the Cumbria-based distributor to further success, including winning the Catering Insight Service & Maintenance Provider of the Year Award 2017.
Leigh started in the foodservice equipment industry as a field service engineer in 1993, and over the years had stints at Mollett Catering Equipment, Hayton Howard Catering Engineers and CEM Catering Equipment.
The Lakes Catering Maintenance team paid tribute to him, stating: “Leigh will be fondly remembered for being a gentle and conscientious character, diligent and thorough with a keen eye for detail in all aspects of his life and work.
“Dependable and loyal, Leigh would ‘move mountains’ for those who needed his help and we already miss him dearly.”
However, they emphasised: “Whilst Leigh’s passing has left an unimaginable hole in our hearts, please be assured that in terms of business operations and continuity, the team here at LCM are working tirelessly to ensure normal operations continue with minimal disruption, however if you have any concerns during this time please get in touch with us.
“Finally, we thank you for all the messages of support and kind words received about Leigh.”
Lakes’ operations manager, Sal Martin, has requested that those wishing to pass on their condolences should contact her outside working hours, due to a high workload.
