Warewashing manufacturer Krupps has partnered with Midshires Catering Equipment MD Ian Tyler to launch a new venture focused on the Italian company’s Compack brand.
The new Compack UK business will be operated from Midshires’ Loughborough headquarters.
Krupps’ Compack brand has been manufactured by the firm for over 55 years at its factory in Padua, Italy. The machines are designed to be heavy duty yet simple to use.
Compack UK MD Tyler decided that off the back of the success of the Krupps machines a market also existed for a back-to-basics warewasher which didn’t require all the bells and whistle of Krupps’ high-end machines.
A number of the warewasher manufacturers’ customers are reportedly looking for a machine where they can simply turn it on and carry out a wash – and this is what Compack machines are designed to do.
Underneath the solid and robust exterior lies a control board where an engineer can set up and adjust the machine’s parameters to the preferences of the customer and the site.
Pitching in at ‘just above’ entry level, the machines can be found at a reasonable price point, but a way behind those manufacturers that command top end money.
Tyler stated: “I have been a fan of the Krupps quality and versatility of their machines since I met them at Host in 2015. I also was really pleased to find a manufacturer who not only listens to its customers but also acts on requests for change.
“I had the great pleasure of meeting Krupps owners, Fabio and Enrico Scanavin, and of course our favorite export MD, Riccardo Scuotto at that show. I started to import their machines from November that year and played a huge part in getting their machines perfect for the UK market.”
He also feels that Compack UK is well situated. “Loughborough in Leicestershire is an ideal place in the heart of the country,” said Tyler.
“We are just 40 minutes from Birmingham and 90 minutes from London with easy access to most of the country from here. At this location we hold stock of the machines and spare parts. Our technical team, service coordination team and soon to be arranged training teams are all based at our site in Loughborough.
“I am hoping to get out and meet new dealers for our machines once the pandemic allows. I have been in talks with a number of service partners around the country so we should be in a great position to offer service and installation to all areas when the country reopens and gets itself back up and running again.”
