Kitchen web shop sees online business soar

Online kitchen store NextDayCatering insists its ability to get catering equipment and supplies to customers within 24 hours is “setting it apart” from competitors in the field.

The company, which offers a range of discounted equipment and claims it won’t be beaten on price, says it is benefitting from the increasing number of restaurants sourcing kit online.

The Glasgow-based outfit stocks more than 17,000 products and uses a number of delivery networks throughout the UK to ensure fast despatch to even the most remote areas.

A spokesperson for the site said its focus was on creating a platform where restaurant owners and other business people in the catering trade can get all the products they need, no matter what type of operation they run.

“We found that one of the most requested services from a catering supply merchant was a next day delivery option, and soon after we started offering next day deliveries it quickly became very popular,” said the spokesperson. “Restaurant owners find it incredibly useful to be able to quickly replenish supplies that may have diminished during an unexpected busy spell.”

Despite facilitating a huge portion of its business online, NextDayCatering still offers customers more traditional methods of procuring equipment if they prefer.

Restaurateurs that are more comfortable with an old fashioned catalogue can request one to be sent to them, while orders can be placed by telephone as well as online.
