MCFT has opened an office in Scotland and aims to use it as a springboard to winning more business north of the border.
The kitchen maintenance provider has worked in Scotland for more than a decade through national contracts with customers that have branches there.
But the latest investment in setting up an operation in Falkirk is a clear statement of its intent to develop a more significant standalone presence.
Alastair Law, who previously worked for SW Enviro, Catersafe and Aggora Group, has been hired as business development manager for Scotland and he told Catering Insight it was the right time to be expanding.
“As a company we are continuing to grow so the sensible step was to create our own presence in Scotland by opening up our own office and then moving forward to self-deliver our services in Scotland.”
Mr Law said the location of the office gives it good access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the wider central belt area, but said it would offer full coverage elsewhere.
“We are looking to continue to cover the delivery of our sites in Scotland that come from our national contracts, but certainly the plan is to grow the local business as well. My role is to build the business in Scotland, bring on new clients, grow the existing client database and ensure that we are delivery a quality service that you get right across the board from MCFT.”
Mr Law is joined in the Scottish office by service manager Jackie Hall and locally-based engineers.
MCFT currently repairs and maintains kitchen equipment for a wide range of customers, including hospitals, corporate offices, banking, care home groups and hotels.
It also works with contract caterers and facilities management companies.
Maidenhead-based MCFT also has offices in the Netherlands, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
