A former lap dancing club in Accrington is set to be converted into a restaurant serving up to 110 people.
The former iCandy premises, which is located opposite the town hall, is currently the subject of proposals to transform it into an upmarket eatery and bar.
It is thought the project could gather pace quickly as the ground floor of the building previously traded as the Quattro’s Brasserie and would not therefore require new planning permission.
The site had served as a lap dancing venue for two years but faced opposition from locals. Its entertainment licence ran out in October last year and was not renewed.
The Citizen quoted a report from planning agent David Hancock, which said: “The project is to bring the building back into use as a restaurant on the ground floor, for which a permission exists, and to convert the first floor into a bar which will serve both the public and the customers of the restaurant.”
Mr Hancock added that the upstairs would be redecorated in “a more appropriate style”, according to the paper.
