Kitchen design firm Wilcox Burchmore heads north

Wilcox Burchmore has taken on a project that covers two hospitals in Nottingham and Manchester.

The commercial kitchen designer and installer, which specialises in dining areas for schools, universities and corporate workplaces, has been asked to look at the catering operation of the hospitals, run by Spire Healthcare, and put forward some recommendations for an efficient service for patients, staff, visitors and hospitality.

“We’ll be looking at the food transportation system between departments, the ward kitchen and food provenance,” explains joint director Cathy Willcox.

“We are especially pleased that the client has involved a consultant from the outset.

“This will ensure that all the requirements will be taken into account at the planning stage so that our design will really fit the bill.

"This project was down to the sterling job that co-director Michael Burchmore did at a City office building earlier this year.

“The mechanical and engineering consultants from that job recommended Wilcox Burchmore for this project and with Cathy’s experience in hospitals, the proposal they put forward to Spire confirmed that they’d got the right people for the job,” adds Burchmore.
