Sheerness-based distributor Kent Catering Service (KCS) is celebrating 20 years in business.

The firm has marked the occasion in several ways including a new 20th year anniversary van, a staff party and celebration, and various promotional items for its customers including celebratory mouse mats.

KCS was recognised as a finalist in Catering Insight’s sister magazine’s FEJ Awards 2019 in the Service & Maintenance Specialist of the Year category.

The distributor’s general manager Mark Seager commented: “Just being recognised for this was an achievement enough for us – being grouped in with all the national players said a lot about our work ethics and achievements.

“We are again finalists in the Swale business awards this year, having won Sheppey business of the year for the past 2 years running.”

On the anniversary, he commented: “We feel this an excellent achievement for an independent company in today’s marketplace.

“This shows that small independent businesses like ours can thrive and survive in today’s cut-throat world of multinational companies’ dominance.

“We have resisted offers of mergers and takeovers as we feel our ethos and service we give to our customers is what makes us unique and keeps our customer base retention so high.”
