Grantham-based KCM Catering Equipment has taken to the stage for one of its latest projects.
The distributor completely upgraded the Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre’s kitchen facilities in Boston.
The compact scheme demanded stripping out the existing part domestic, part commercial kitchen along with all the existing services.
KCM then fitted new hygienic and stainless steel wall cladding along with new safety flooring and a new suspended ceiling. New electric, water and waste services were fitted with kitchen ventilation.
Aside from stainless steel fabrications from Bridge Catering Fabrications, the distributor also fitted an undercounter Maidiad dishwasher, a Burco induction oven range, undercounter refrigeration from Gram and upright from Williams.
The scheme was completed over eight working days. Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre can now offer full kitchen facilities suitable for outside caterers to use for parties, conferences and other events.
The kitchen upgrade, part of ongoing refurbishment plans at the Boston theatre, was made possible by a grant of £18,820 by energy company Orsted’s East Coast Community Fund.
