Kent-based KCCJ has returned to Sopwell House to start work on a brasserie and kitchen reburb.

Within the main hotel building, KCCJ will cover all aspects of the project, from initial designs to final handover.

The work will include stripping out the current kitchen, putting together a new infrastructure and finally installing new food service fabricated items and equipment.

Sopwell House is a Pride of Britain Hotel located in the city of St Albans, Hertfordshire.

In 2016, KCCJ was given a brief to design a new kitchen for the restaurant that met the hotels operational requirements.

After developing the design and taking the relevant advice from structural and drainage engineers KCCJ began the process of demolishing the interior fabric and removing walls before rebuilding the kitchen.

The design aims to reduce downtime and increase the speed chefs can get food on plates, meaning KCCJ set out to design and install a kitchen that would last for several years.
