Shine Catering Systems’ MD Julian Shine has welcomed his company’s win at Catering Insight and FEJ’s Kitchen & Equipment Awards.
The Newport-based distributor triumphed in the Marketing & Strategy category, sponsored by Welbilt.
Shine believes that the peer accreditation this award bestows, as it is voted for by senior members of the UK catering equipment supply chain, is invaluable.
Welbilt regional sales manager, Sharon Clarke, presented the trophy to Shine in the video above.
The business triumphed in the category as it quickly reviewed its 5-year vision on how the company was to be structured and specific growth achieved, following the Covid outbreak.
Shine Catering Systems accordingly put into place initiatives including developing an online costing tool, available through its website, which gives its customers the opportunity to build up their own budget costs for projects planned; and developing interactive project presentation for major contracts, adapting these for Microsoft Teams and Zoom communications.
Shine said of the gameplan: “We have worked tirelessly to repeatedly adapt our strategy and communication, providing an uninterrupted service to our clients and to support our supply chain in collective delivery of our works. We have understood that our supply chain have struggled to provide the level of service that we have come to expect, but have worked to find solutions, not bash those who are doing everything they can at the moment.”
On the Kitchen & Equipment Awards win, he revealed: “Our reaction to winning this was one of delight. I was on a client Teams meeting at the time of announcement and was wondering why my inbox was dinging away like a Prodigy track. It ratifies the hard work done by the whole team and their reaction was great. It was also great to have the congratulations from the wider industry, which reminds you that we all operate in a relatively small space!
“These awards are special. They recognise our ethics, performance and desire to partner our supply chain. We recognise that our relationships are strong, but to win by such a margin was humbling.”
