Following the announcement of a new Zanussi Professional exclusive partnership last November, JLA trade division The Professionals Choice believes it has been a successful move into the catering industry.
According to The Professionals Choice’s trade and export sales director Francis Ayscough: “We don’t just provide good-quality products – we also offer tailored sales support and advice based on what we’ve learned over a collective six decades. It’s about making sure that customers get the experience they want alongside the equipment they need.”
He is also positive about the company’s developing relationship with Zanussi as its UK distributor, adding: “We’re increasing our market presence week by week.”
Trade national account manager Claire Moss emphasised: “We’re not into selling just boxes; we’re into selling quality and reliability. That’s what Zanussi offers. We’re proud to be partnering with them.”
Luca Laurenti, sales director of Zanussi Professional, is happy with the step both companies have made in the catering equipment supply market, especially during Zanussi’s 100th anniversary. “We’re very pleased to join the strength of our brand with such a great company in what is such an important year for us,” he said. “We’re planning ahead for a common brilliant future and working with The Professionals Choice will help Zanussi Professional achieve even more growth in the UK.”
The move into catering hasn’t been without its challenges; Ayscough noted that the market is full of cheap equipment, which can make it harder for all distributors to sell products. However, he believes that “if you buy cheap, you buy twice – especially in catering,” and feels that many of the company’s new customers share the same sentiment. “They’ve come to us based on the quality and reputation of Zanussi,” he said.
The most popular product The Professionals Choice has sold so far is the Zanussi passthrough dishwasher, which doesn’t surprise Ayscough. “It’s got a very innovative design that offers a lot of benefits,” he explained. “Almost all of our customers who need dishwashers have chosen this model.”
The Professionals Choice trade and export sales manager Matt Johnson added: “It’s a great product. It’s got an angular design that means you can see how wash cycles are progressing, no matter where you are in the kitchen.”
The Professionals Choice is optimistic about its future as a catering equipment supplier. “We’re interested in keeping our great partnerships with Zanussi and Primus [for laundry] while also developing selective partnerships with more equipment suppliers so that we can continue to offer the best possible machines to our clients,” said Ayscough
Johnson feels: “We’re excited to keep increasing our market presence in catering and continue to provide our customers with solid, quality products.”
