Commercial laundry, catering and heating equipment supplier JLA Group is on the buyout trail again, following the completion of a trio of new acquisitions.
The group has purchased Newcombustion Engineering, Trinity Heatcare and Ellesmere Group, all of which will be added to its commercial heating and air-conditioning division.
The three companies have a combined headcount of more than 100 (of which 55 are engineers) and cover the Midlands, London, north west and south of England.
The Ripponden-based business has continued an acquisitive strategy which saw it purchase seven catering equipment dealers within an 18 month period across 2013-2015. These were: Carford, Red Squared, CKM, Proton Washrite, Harmony Business & Technology, Comcat Engineering, and Newco Catering Equipment.
Subsequently, JLA bought Somerset-based catering equipment manufacturer DC (Direct Catering) Products at the end of 2017, and more recent acquisitions include fire safety equipment provider, Fire Bright Solutions, with that deal sealed in April 2018.
Helen Ashton, chief executive at JLA, said of the latest round of buyouts: “The acquisition of Trinity Heat Care, Ellesmere Group and Newcombustion in 3 months is a huge achievement for us.
“Adding them to the previous acquisition of William Whitfield, the coverage we are now offering across the UK in the HVAC sector is invaluable to growing our already extensive customer base.
“We’re seeing more and more customers who want that one-stop shop for the critical areas of their business and by building on our own 40-plus years of knowledge with the expertise of the acquisition companies, we can offer them just that.”
