Jestic meets bread-making kneads

Jestic – Somerset CDR-170 – Mid crop
The Somerset CDR-170 dough moulder is one of two bread-making appliances now available through Jestic.

Jestic has introduced Somerset dough rounders and moulders to its product range.

The compact countertop dough rounder has been designed to complement the company’s existing professional grade bakery equipment. Combining much of Somerset’s 70 year heritage, the newly launched appliances are claimed to deliver consistency and achieve cost and labour savings.

The Somerset SDR-400 unit is designed to produce uniform dough balls, with production of up to 7,200 pieces per hour and the ability to round dough from 50g to 1kg in a continuous, one person operated flow. An automatic adjustment allows the chef to place the dough in the stick-resistant intake before the machine should adjust to the correct size to produce the identical, airtight dough balls of matching size and shape.

For those looking for a unit capable of producing bread-based products, the new Somerset CDR-170 provides a solution. With an interchangeable 6” – 15” pressure plate, the moulder is capable of producing uniform dough for speciality breads, hot dog buns, sub rolls, breadsticks, pretzels and baguettes. Able to make up to 1,800 pieces per hour, the moulder uses synthetic rollers and features what is said to be an ergonomic design which makes it simple to operate and quick to clean.

Steve Morris, sales director at Jestic Foodservice Equipment said: “Whether a small bakery, artisan producer, fine dining establishment, Italian restaurant or a casual dining chain looking to automate their process of making fresh, homemade dough for bread, pizza bases, and baguettes, the Somerset range provides and quality finish to an existing offering, helping a business to stand out.

“The new Somerset dough rounder and dough moulder provide an optimum solution for chefs by combining a countertop design, with the ability to produce thousands of individual units per hour. Achieving uniform, airtight dough in a range of shapes and sizes, operators can achieve excellent consistency while delivering ongoing cost and labour savings by using the Somerset SDR-400 and CDR-170 in their kitchen.”

Both the SDR-400 rounder and CDR-170 moulder include safety sensors and automatic shut-off systems, while the compact, countertop designs and heavy duty construction means the Somerset appliances are said to withstand the demands of a busy commercial kitchen.
