Jestic Foodservice Equipment has once again signed up to support the European Pizza and Pasta Show, which this year will be held on 13-15 November at London’s Olympia.
On stand 29A the supplier will be demonstrating the latest offerings from its brands, including Zio Pepe, Wood Stone, Edge Ovens, Alfa Pro, Vitamix, Somerset and Sveba Dahlen.
Plus Jestic’s culinary director, Michael Eyre, will be judging a cookery competition during the event.
Eyre has been involved with Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association (PAPA) competitions for over 15 years and he will once again be joining the judging panel to assess the chefs competing for the coveted title of PAPA Pizza Chef of the Year 2019.
He has an experienced pedigree to draw upon to make this decision, being introduced to the culinary world aged just 15, beginning his career in his local pub kitchen. Keen to learn more, Eyre enrolled into West Kent College in Tonbridge, where after 2 years, he graduated with his City & Guilds level 1 and 2 in Hospitality and Catering.
Seeking an opportunity to further enhance and develop his own creativity, he took the position of development chef for American oven manufacturer Bakers Pride in 1999. Using his skill and his knowledge of the industry, in 2005, Eyre joined fellow directors, Ben Dale and Steve Morris, as the three founded Jestic Foodservice Equipment.
Most recently, he became a Craft Guild of Chefs General Committee member in 2016, in doing so becoming the first chef from the equipment supply side of the industry to hold the role. In 2017, he gained his CFSP accreditation, an industry-specific qualification for the UK foodservice sector.
