Reigate-based distributor JDS Catering Equipment has recently finished a complete refit of the whole kitchen at Billericay School in Essex.
This was a 6-8 week programme which was completed on time to enable the school to start back after the summer holidays.
All areas were modified and refitted in consultation with the school’s catering manager and the JDS team, reportedly resulting in a very satisfied end user.
The main counter has been designed so that lunches can be served from both sides, cutting the service time down and enabling pupils to receive meals quicker.
By installing the large Rational combi ovens and improved cooking equipment, the school’s catering team should now be able to produce the large volume of varied meals required.
Other main equipment manufacturers involved in the project were Falcon, CED Fabrications and Hobart.
This is the second project JDS has undertaken in Essex, with MD Nigel Quince commenting: “With Billericay School being so proud of their new facilities, they have started to invite other schools in the area to come and view these new facilities, so we are hoping this will not be the last project in this region.”
