Cookstown-based distributor, JD Catering, has launched a sister venture called SpaceBank to store catering equipment.

Director Jason Currie detailed: “We saw a gap in the Irish market, as we were getting enquiries from customers who lack the space to store any equipment which they are not using but didn’t want to dispose of.

“Furthermore it is also useful during fitouts, when equipment needs storing temporarily.”

SpaceBank purchased a 2 acre site in the centre of Northern Ireland, which now holds newly-bought, fully insulated containers to store the equipment in. The secure compound features cameras, an alarm and floodlit access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The new company collects the equipment from any premises and can offer a cleaning and maintenance service while in storage. “This makes us a one stop shop in this field,” commented Currie. “When the customer wants any item back, we can re-deliver and install it, all at the same time.”

The short or long term container hire is priced at £25 a week, and requires no deposit or contract.
