Footfall for Catex was reportedly up by 10%.

Catex 2019 saw footfall up by almost 10% on previous editions, according to the trade show’s organiser, the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance (IFSA).

Thousands of visitors from the foodservice, hospitality, catering and on-trade sectors descended on the RDS in Dublin on 26-28 February, said to make it the biggest turnout for the exhibition to date.

Exhibitors reported that substantial business was done and the IFSA said there was overwhelming positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike.

IFSA chairman John Cunningham commented: “IFSA, alongside our industry partners, has worked hard on this show for the past 2 years. Our goal was to make Catex 2019 as good as it could be and the vibrancy and atmosphere over the 3 days was incredible.

“In the build up to the sold-out event, the signs were very positive, but visitor numbers have exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled to hear exhibitors are reporting that major deals have been done.”

Over 250 companies showcased their products and services during the 3 day show. From the equipment sector this included: Aluline, Artis, Bunzl Catering Design Solutions, CaterQuotes, Churchill, CCS, EPAS, Fagor, Galgorm Group, GEV, Hoshizaki, Hugh Jordan Catering Supplies, LF Group, Marco Beverage Systems, Murco Catering Equipment, Nisbets, PFR, Robot Coupe, Smeg, Steelite, Stephens Catering Equipment, UCC Coffee, Unox, Velox Grills and Welbilt.

The biennial show will return in 2021.
