iPhone-powered coffee system becomes a Twitter hit

Scanomat claims that one of its products has become a social media sensation after capturing the imagination of the market at a series of recent trade shows.

The Top Brewer bean to cup coffee machine, which can conjure up a coffee via an iPhone app, was shown at last year’s Cafe Culture and HOST shows, and has since become an online hit.

YouTube videos of the kit in action have gone viral, while subsequent hits on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking websites have nearly reached the 150,000 mark, which Scanomat insists is a “phenomenal” tally for a foodservice product.

TopBrewer is a professional dual grinder bean to cup system that uses freshly ground beans to produce an abundance of fashionable coffees and hot drinks.

However, all the customer sees is a stainless steel arched delivery spout rising from the counter, as the machine and all its workings are contained below the worktop, leaving operators valuable counter space for POS and ‘grab and go’ service opportunities.

TopBrewer can be built into any table or counter top while activation of the drinks brewing process can be via either smartphone or the finger-touch keyboard that can be built into the counter top.

Scanomat claims the device has attracted plenty of interest from national foodservice operators, consultants and interior designers as the system doesn’t require boiler inspections, features an automatic cleaning programme and is manufactured using recyclable materials.
