A catering equipment internet company that was set up four years ago is seeking a new owner following a change in circumstances within its management team.

London-based Equipsupply sells commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration and warewashing from a number of well-known brands, generating the majority of its turnover from online sales.

It stocks more than 1,000 different items for purchase and predominantly sells to retail shops, bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants and bars within the UK.

However, the managing director of Equipsupply located to the USA two years ago for personal reasons and the firm now wants to find a dedicated UK-based buyer to manage it.

A document preparing the company for sale seen by Catering Insight advertises the business as one that boasts a solid customer base domestically and abroad and “extremely low” overheads.

The document reads: “It is an ideal buy for catering equipment or retail distributors who are looking to move towards an e-commerce platform to add extra revenue/turnover to their existing business.

“Alternatively the business would make sense for an individual in the trade or industry looking to set up an online platform.”

It added that the company has strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiated good discounts off list price for products.

The sale will include a fully-functioning ecommerce site and a full database of past and current customers.
