Instanta aims to brings sous vide to the masses


Water boiler specialist Instanta has expanded its range of digital water baths with the addition of two new entry-level models.

The company says that the units providing the perfect introduction to the increasingly popular sous vide method of cooking.

The two new baths are smaller than the existing Instanta SV models, holding 12 and 18 litres of water respectively, but both still have 200mm deep tanks to hold larger food portions comfortably.

Each unit houses a powerful 2.25kw heater for rapid initial heat-up, recovery times and regeneration and have an easy-to-read liquid crystal display on the front panel for both set and actual temperatures, as well as elapsed cooking time.

Both models also feature a low water level warning with protection against boiling dry, and are easy to drain for cleaning, according to the Merseyside company.
