Like the rest of the catering world, Maidaid demonstrated a dogged determination to sustain ‘business as usual’ during the worst months of the pandemic.
This resolve has more than paid off. Maidaid Halcyon sales director, Robert Wager, said: “We have recorded some of our best trading months since the lockdown was eased. We take this as a tremendously positive sign that the entire industry has weathered the storm and is now steaming ahead.
“Our distributors have been amazing and I’d like to thank them all for their ongoing support. After 45 years of working with our distributors nationwide, they know we can provide the high levels of service and support they expect from us, to help them meet the ever-changing demands from their own customers.”
Wager continued: “Our rapid growth has enabled us to create new roles within the business to further enhance the services we offer. We are delighted to have taken on a dedicated service coordinator to act as liaison between our trusted service partners and our distributors. The service coordinator will now be the main point of contact for warranty calls and anything service related, which will streamline the servicing process.”
The company also took time during the lockdown to look to the future, and has implemented comprehensive updates, innovations and improvements to both the Maidaid and Halcyon warewashing ranges. The updates and new models were launched this summer in the latest ‘Product Guides’ and were very well received.
Wager said: “We always take feedback from all of our distributors on board, and not only have we updated or replaced some of our models, we have also added some exciting new machines to our ranges. All undercounter dishwashers and passthrough machines now incorporate some great additional features, designed not only to enhance the end user experience, but to offer greater assistance to service engineers.
“Better yet, the updated machines are being supplied at the same price as their direct replacement. There has been no price increase.”
One new arrival is the C405WS undercounter glasswasher, which is a 390 x 390mm basket machine with an internal softener and drain pump as standard. It’s an addition to the Maidaid C Range and, as with all other products within this range, it has 2 years warranty as standard.
Key features include a newly designed four button control fascia, with soft touch controls. The new twin traffic lights feature gives instant status updates and operational self-diagnostics. An alarms menu with hi-level information retrieval, improved wash action from quick release parallel wash and rinse arm design, plus the ability to tailor cycle times to specific site requirements all add to the high specification of this new machine.
The C405WS is supplied with scrap tray filters and two glass baskets as standard.
Furthermore, Maidaid has added a selection of 500 x 600mm basket tray/dishwashers to the C Range. The three new machines all carry 2 years warranty as standard.
The C612 and C615WS are both classed as undercounter machines, with the C615WS featuring an internal continuous water softener, while the C652 is a front-loading machine.
The whole range offers a generous usable height to cater for larger kitchenware, and all machines have a range of ancillary inserts to allow for the efficient washing of gastronorms.
The range offers stainless steel scrap tray filters, fitted drain pumps, enhanced wash action from a quick release triple wash and rinse arm design, internal breaktanks, and a patented dual flow wash pump with soft start, all of which are supplied as standard.
A heavy duty D3121 passthrough machine is new to the D Range. It’s a high powered 10.2kW three-phase unit designed for heavy duty use. Consistent with the rest of the D Range, the machine comes with 2 years warranty. A fitted drain pump and breaktank are all supplied as standard.
The new machine has many features including a redesigned fascia, an alarms menu with hi-level information retrieval, an improved wash action from a quick release parallel wash and rinse arm design, and improved triple wash tank filtration. Other benefits include a fully double-skinned body construction and the ability to tailor cycles to site requirements. Surface scrap trays are supplied as standard.
Another recent development is the new EVO3135WS with easy to read LCD display. An addition to the Evolution range, the EVO 3135WS is a high powered 10.2kW three-phase passthrough machine, with a continuous internal softener and a powerful boiler element to facilitate rapid recovery.
The machine benefits from easy to use soft touch keys that augment a large backlit polychromatic LCD display. Said to be unique among dishwashers on the market, rather than just a button display, the entire screen changes colour according to the operating status of the machine and the current stage of the wash cycle. This makes the EVO3135WS display easy to read and interpret, even from a distance – a boon for a busy kitchen.
The machine also benefits from a drain pump, break tank and internal continuous water softener, all fitted as standard. Features include stainless steel scrap tray filters, an extensive range of special cycles that can all be tailored to site requirements, a full double-skinned body and hood construction, an increased range of water hardness settings plus an easy lift super glide hood system.
Furthermore, Maidaid has developed its order tracking, focusing on clear communication with distributors and clients being of paramount importance. It has improved the facility for customers to track orders online, via an automatic link they will receive following the dispatch of their goods.
Wager concluded: “To maintain our position as one of the industry’s leading brands, we continue to offer award-winning support, unbeatable warranty cover, and of course, a machine for every application.”
