Imperial hires ex-Victor salesman to front growth plans

Imperial Catering Equipment has expanded its team by recruiting Scott Taylor as its new business development manager.

Taylor joins the company from Victor Manufacturing, where he has spent the last nine years working as an area sales manager.

Imperial has created the new BDM position with the specific aim of focusing on the ‘Ovention’ high speed oven product that it recently gained the master distribution contract for in the UK.

Taylor will also be looking to develop the Hatco brand into new markets and, along with Ovention, target sectors such as retail, leisure and high street cafes.

He said: “I’m looking forward to working with the quality products of both Hatco and Ovention. The opportunity to work with such an established and respected brand as Hatco, while also bringing to the UK market the cutting-edge Matchbox oven from Ovention, is an exciting prospect and one I’ll relish.”

Imperial sales director, Andy Piggin, said Taylor’s appointment was the result of a “lengthy, thorough search for an industry winner”.

He said: “Scott’s professionalism and enthusiasm shone through and we are excited to see him settle into the role and make Ovention a household name within the industry. Scott will be put through an intensive training programme, which will educate him on our products and our culture here at Imperial.”
