Imperial Catering Equipment has put out a short statement confirming it has secured the UK distribution rights for the Ovention commercial oven brand.
The Loughborough-based business said it was “delighted” to strike the deal and add the North American brand to its portfolio.
The agreement covers both the sales and after-sales support for the Ovention precision impingement line of ovens across the UK.
Imperial said the product would be released for sale later in 2013.
Ovention owns the rights to the Matchbox oven, a cooking device created by the inventor of the original TurboChef, Phil McKee.
Last month, Ovention was sold to Hatco, a brand that Imperial also distributes in the UK.
Hatco has been serving as the sole contract manufacturing partner to Ovention since the second half of last year and will now operate the brand as an independent business unit.
