Iglu cuts lead times with factory extension

Iglu Cold Systems is promising a lead time of three weeks for standard products following the expansion of its main factory in Italy.

UK customers will now be able to get stock delivered quicker after the move to enlarge the factory by a further 50% of its original size.

The lead time for custom products, meanwhile, stands at eight to 10 weeks.

National sales manager, Danny McLaughlin, said production schedules at the plant have gradually been increased to ensure staff and new personnel could be trained first.

“Continuous improvement means continuous investment,” he said. “Running at full capacity, even through our traditional August shutdown period, while maintaining these lead times confirms the investment for the future.”

McLaughlin said he hoped UK partners and customers would benefit from the expansion.

“Our industry is dictated by not only price, but availability of product — we wanted to ensure that this investment would offer our clients a seamless transition through the development phase of the expansion,” he added.

Iglu Cold Systems develops and produces a wide range of cooling and freezing appliances.
