IFSE acquires equipment service company

International Food Service Equipment (IFSE) has bolstered its service capabilities by acquiring Romann Catering Equipment Engineers.

The Surrey-based design and build specialist confirmed the buy-out yesterday and said that the move would strengthen its position as an Electrolux equipment and services provider.

IFSE says that an existing shared client base between the two companies will expand to provide new catering group service and maintenance contracts inside the London and M25 areas.

Andrew Fordyce, director of IFSE, said: “Romann has relocated to our Croydon office and is a vital part of our plan to further increase market penetration as Electrolux Premier catering equipment and commercial laundry suppliers. They have already strengthened our after-sales support in business and industry, education, garden centres, restaurants, travel catering and visitor attractions”.

Six engineers and a three-strong office-based team from Kent-based Romann have taken up roles at IFSE.

Fordyce says that the deal marks IFSE’s first acquisition and will increase its overall package of design, supply and installation by bringing service and maintenance under its control in-house.

“We see service as a hugely important part of our future business with a significant opportunity to support multi-outlet users in the south,” he said.
