A UK contractor that sells into the commercial catering sector is offering what it claims is the first hygienic wall and ceiling covering to meet the EU’s most stringent fire safety standard.
Beplas Hygienic Walls and Ceilings, which is based on the Wirral, has struck an exclusive stockholding deal with US manufacturer Panolam Industries to market the brand’s range of Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) in the UK.
FRP purports to be the only hygienic cladding material in the UK to achieve B,S2,d0 to EN13501 certification and has been proven to be more fire-resistant than traditional PVC-based panels , giving off significantly less smoke and with lower smoke toxicity.
Panolam FRP is widely used in the US food manufacturing industry as well as hospitals, restaurants, fast food outlets, schools, care homes and other establishments where public safety and good hygiene are of paramount importance.
Jay Moorhouse, director of Beplas, said: “FRP is a very versatile and hard-wearing product with the added benefit of a really impressive fire safety rating.”
Beplas says that with local stocks in place, it can now deliver to site within 48 hours.
