Merseyside-based storage and handling solutions manufacturer, Hupfer, has announced a special milestone this month as it celebrates 150 years in the business.
The company, which now specialise in commercial catering and medical storage and handling equipment, was established back in 1870 for the production of wire mesh. Over the last 150 years, it has grown as a business, now becoming a major brand for the catering and medical industries.
Today, Hupfer is a CEDA platinum, FEA and ENSE partner, with the company hinting at more news to come in the coming weeks. With a large customer base and 10% of workforce being apprentices, the company reports it is continuing to invest in the UK and its people, with principals based on good value, quality made products with the end user always in mind.
Anthony Pettit, head of business development for Hupfer, has been with the business for just over 2 years. He said: “I’ve already travelled the world, had the pleasure of working on some terrific projects and had the opportunity to meet some great people along the way. I’ve done numerous shows/exhibitions and meetings, and have always been made to feel a part of the Hupfer family.
“Hupfer isn’t just a company; it’s a bunch of genuine, down to earth people who care. When working for Hupfer, you’re more than just a number.”
As part of the company’s journey over the last century and a half, it has purchased sister company, Trak, and adapted to the current climate with factory improvements to make layouts and equipment safer and easier to use. Investment in technology and staff is said to be continual, with the company planning to further expand its UK and international markets.
