HRC catering equipment stands you need to see – Part I

BGL Rieber (Stand P730)

BGL Rieber will be enabling show visitors to find out more about its latest developments in foodservice, storage and transport technology. Products on the stand will include Thermoport insulated and heated food transport boxes, and Thermoplate GN pans with new GN-ONE stacking lugs, which means the pans should no longer nestle together and get stuck. The company will be demonstrating a new phone app that can remotely control the latest version of Rieber K-Pot electric chafing dish, which can cook and hold food hot. Also controlled by an app is Rieber’s 10-compartment Multipolar communal refrigeration, which opens the fridge compartment door when the app-holder enters the room.

Pentland Wholesale brand Blizzard will be launching several new products to add to its refrigeration offering including mini bars, tiered displays, serve over counters, increased capacity blast chillers, a white version of the undercounter cabinet and a matching countertop refrigerator and freezer, all operating on hydrocarbon refrigerants. To add to the induction cooking range, the firm will be launching a double hob, a stock pot hob and fryer. The current warewashing range will also be highlighted on the stand alongside some of Blizzard’s current best sellers from the selection of BAR back bar coolers.

Carpigiani UK (Stand P219)

A major player in the manufacture of gelato and ice cream equipment for over 70 years, Carpigiani has a team of experts ready to demonstrate its extensive range of appliances. Visitors to stand P219 will be able to view the Ready Chef – a new machine for gelato and pastry. The unit has 16 gelato programs and 16 pastry programs including four for pastry creams, eight for working chocolate and four for special desserts. Countertop and single phase, it’s suitable for a busy restaurant or pastry section, designed to deliver consistency and a high quality product. The Ready Chef is the latest addition to Carpigiani’s Restaurant Range.

Blue Seal (Stand P700)

Blue Seal’s stand will have a cross section of all of its products, showcasing the Evolution Heavy Duty Series, an expanded, functional range of equipment offering many configuration options and claimed high performance. Waldorf Bold modular suites will also be emphasised, as they take a new aesthetic approach and are said to offer a stylish option coupled with heavy duty performance. The Turbofan convection ovens on display will feature a wider range of oven footprints and increased tray loading capacity to suit virtually any application. There will also be Blue Seal’s updated EC40 Turbofan combi steamers that are designed to fit intuitive functionality and raw power into a compact footprint.

Catertherm (Stand P438)

Catertherm is the exclusive UK agent for many global catering equipment manufacturers, specialising in food display equipment, cooking equipment and beverage preservation and dispensing equipment. At the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Show it will be showing its combined heated and chilled food display units, alongside three new product launches. The stand will be interactive, with live equipment demonstrations and the opportunity for visitors to get hands on with the appliances.

Charvet (Stand P419)

Charvet specialises in tailoring coloured enamel panels for its cooking suites and salamander. There are nine standard colours and virtually any colour is available on request. Its reduced-depth Pro700 cooking modules – pasta cooker, open burners, chrome plancha  – will feature on the stand in black. Appearing in ivory is a Charvet Pro800 with the new Four Zone Plancha and Electric Water Grill, Charvet’s version of an electric chargrill. Also on show is the Multizone induction – four 3.5kW hobs that work as one, the One series six burner and triple gas chargrill with refrigerated drawer. Charvet is also unveiling its Low Temperature Cooking using existing bains marie.

Commercial Catering Spares (Stand P119)

Since 1996 Commercial Catering Spares (CCS) has been providing the UK’s catering equipment service industry with what it deems as quality spare parts and technical advice, alongside friendly service. The company’s stand will feature information about the products it sells and offers an opportunity for customers to meet its sales team and learn more about what it does. CCS will also be representing its parent company, REPA, a major European spare parts group, which has enabled CCS to have access to over 700 brands and over 2m parts.

Falcon Foodservice Equipment (Stand P518)

Falcon Foodservice Equipment will be showcasing its new high-speed oven as part of a café concept. The company will also launch its brand new ‘One Series’ induction top oven range. The induction range has been developed to suit the needs of caterers in, for example, care homes, coffee shops and cafés. It has been designed for kitchens that don’t need the high power and performance found in Falcon’s F900 and Dominator Plus induction models. Sharing the stand with sister firm, Williams Refrigeration, Falcon chefs will be using the equipment to demonstrate food storage, prep and cooking techniques.

Florigo (Stand P749)

Florigo is known for supplying frying equipment hand built in Holland by craftsmen, which it will be highlighting at HRC. The company believes the equipment is renowned for reliability and build quality. Each bespoke unit is designed to fit into a kitchen well, without obstructing any other working areas, no matter how challenging the size or layout may be. Florigo also believes that its frying appliances with ‘unique’ filtration can enable sites to produce a consistently high-quality product, make significant savings on gas and oil consumption costs and introduce a smoother operation in the kitchen.

Filta (Stand P352)

Filta will be at this year’s HRC show with its FiltaFOG GreaseMaster grease recovery unit, its new FiltaVent automated extraction cleaning system to help caterers meet new fire risk management standards and its FiltaSeal refrigeration seals, which help keep food fresh and are claimed to work out 40% more cost-effective than competitors on the market. Visitors will be able to see the GreaseMaster in action. The grease recovery unit (GRU) system is designed to fit under the sink to remove FOG from sinks, dishwashers, rotisserie ovens and combi ovens in real-time before it gets to the drains, and is an alternative to traditional grease traps.

Foodservice Equipment Association (formerly CESA) (Stand P621)

A focus on the FEA stand will be the major changes that are occurring as the industry trade association changes its name. From March 2020 CESA becomes the Foodservice Equipment Association, or FEA. Members of the FEA secretariat will be on the stand to explain the new structure of the association. Visitors can also pick up a Trend Trails map from the FEA stand. Each trail will lead the visitor to a variety of companies whose equipment can help with a specific pain. The trials cover six broad areas, sustainability, cost management, operational, staff, customer focus and food.
