Danish combi oven brand Hounö has introduced its Let’s Cook Cloud Solution to the UK.
The cloud-based digital ecosystem gives a real-time overview of an oven fleet, with the solution scalable from individual restaurants to global restaurant chains.
The software was one of the innovations awarded with a Smart Label at this year’s Host show in Milan. Hounö business development manager Vincent Van Delft reported: “We saw a lot interest in Let’s Cook at Host Milano, and we are happy to introduce our award-winning cloud solution to the UK market.”
Hounö developed Let’s Cook based on industry input. Therefore, the Middleby Group manufacturer believes the cloud solution addresses concrete challenges in the industry.
For instance, the firm says menu management becomes simple, fast and safe. Let’s Cook facilitates distribution of recipes and software from chains’ headquarters to each connected oven in the restaurants. Furthermore, Let’s Cook is said to give a quick and easy overview of an oven fleet and it will notify end users before any operational problems arise.
Van Delft added: “This allows for proactive prevention of any operational issues and eliminates the ovens’ downtime, which we know is of major importance to a restaurant’s earnings.”
The cloud solution should also allow operators to monitor usage and product performance live. At the same time, they have access to an HAACP library that documents the cooking processes. This information can be used to calculate running costs, giving claimed increased control and an opportunity to optimise procedures.
Van Delft explained: “We know the right usage pattern minimises both monetary and environmental costs. For example, you can limit unnecessary use of electricity, water, etc. by avoiding so called bad habits such as always keeping the oven warm or always using the long cleaning program.”
Let’s Cook is an additional feature to Hounö’s Android-powered SmartTouch combi ovens. It can be purchased with new ovens or retrofitted to existing models. In addition it is part of Middleby Connect which can connect a whole kitchen to the cloud.
