Hotelympia reports equipment space is 70% full

The company behind Hotelympia claims it has filled up 70% of the catering equipment zone with a year still to go until the event kicks off.

2014 marks the year when the show will be moved from its original January date to the end of April and start of May. Organisers Fresh Montgomery are also promising a new lay-out as part of a series of strategic changes when the show returns.

Andrew Pantelli, head of sales at Fresh Montgomery, said stand sales suggest the event will see a significant growth in the volume of space represented by catering equipment suppliers.

“Since we announced the changes, it is incredibly reassuring to see the catering equipment sector voting with their feet — we already have 70% of the catering equipment halls filled and 40% more space confirmed from the catering equipment exhibitors than we had at this time two years ago,” he said.

“These businesses are of course still trading in challenging times, however the signs of renewed confidence are encouraging and we are of course delighted that they are choosing to invest in supporting their industry show.”

Fresh Montgomery continues to work with CESA to attract new catering equipment exhibitors to the show. To mark the event reaching its ‘year to go’ date, the pair took a 40-strong delegation of partners to visit Grand Designs Live which was partly the inspiration behind the new Hotelympia lay-out.

The trip also saw those in attendance take an Emirates cable car flight across the Thames and climb the O2 Arena roof to get a somewhat different perspective of the ExCel, where Hotelympia is held.

Keith Warren, director of CESA, said Hotelympia was the most important trade show in the calendar for its members. “It’s exciting to have Hotelympia in one giant hall, while staging it later in the year should ensure an even better experience for visitors and exhibitors alike,” he said.
