Hot 100 creates internet media buzz


Catering Insight’s 2012 Hot 100 party became an internet sensation last week with activity rocketing across the magazine’s website, daily news alert, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

The party, which was attended by 300 guests from the catering equipment market, took place at the exclusive One Mayfair, located off Oxford Street in the heart of London’s busy West End.

Traffic to soared by 467% for the week of the Hot 100 party, compared to the previous week. Almost 30,000 pages were viewed during the five-day working week period, a record level for the site since its launch.

On Twitter, the @cateringinsight feed was buzzing with party guests raving about the event and congratulating the individuals and teams that made it into this year’s Hot 100.

Catering Insight editor, Andrew Seymour, said: “The Hot 100 has really captured the market’s imagination and everyone was eager to find out who made it onto the inaugural list. Our online picture galleries from the party have proved particularly popular — the catering equipment industry knows how to celebrate in style.”

Portraits of all the Hot 100 entrants have been published in a special yearbook produced by Catering Insight.

The yearbook will be distributed to all subscribers with the forthcoming November issue of Catering Insight, and a digital edition will also be made available online.
