Hospitality trade show Host has revealed how it will keep visitors and exhibitors safe for its 2021 edition.
The international event will be held at Fieramilano in Milan on 22-26 October and is expected to showcase more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries.
To ensure that the risk of spreading Covid is minimised, Host organiser Fiera Milano Group has developed a ‘Safe Together’ protocol. This includes numerous structural interventions carried out in the physical space of the exhibition area, as well as full compliance with the rules and health provisions issued at national level for the entire exhibition sector.
Within the centre, the exhibition spaces have been reorganised to encourage respect for social distancing and to ensure better management of flows.
Face masks will be mandatory for both exhibitors and visitors. For reception desks, Host advised it will be preferable to install suitable protective barriers.
Furthermore, cleaning activity will be intensified through the implementation of fixed sanitary facilities and frequent cleaning interventions of all the surfaces of greatest contact (handles, handrails, push-button panels, etc.), while disinfectant gel dispensers have been put in place in high traffic areas.
Ventilation has also been considered, with air recirculation functions excluded in the pavilions, to ensure an adequate fresh airflow.
Similarly, the main attractions of the event will be distributed evenly throughout the exhibition area, with the aim of regulating the turnout and promoting the maintenance of interpersonal distance.
Each exhibitor, within their own exhibition space, must comply with the rules for combating and limiting the spread of Covid-19 as well as ensuring the internal cleanliness and sanitisation of their stand.
If stands have products on display that can be handled by visitors or the stand operators themselves, either preliminary hand disinfection or disposable gloves will be required.
