Administrators for Holmes Catering Equipment today said they were “confident” a buyer for the business would be found after claiming to have received a good level of interest from the market already.
James Sleight and John Twizell of Geoffrey Martin & Co were officially appointed joint administrators of Holmes Catering Equipment last Thursday after the York-based distributor ran into “cash flow issues”.
Administrators haven’t confirmed how many redundancies have been made, but said they had retained the “majority” of the workforce as they continue trading the business in order to complete current outstanding customer contracts.
Mr Sleight said: “The business has a strong brand and forward order book and is an attractive proposition for a competitor, investor or related business. I have already received many expressions of interest and am confident a buyer will be found.”
He added that anybody wishing to express an interest in purchasing the business should contact Mark Gledhill at Geoffrey Martin & Co on 0113 244 5141.
Holmes Catering Equipment offers kitchen design, manufacture and installation services, and has an annual turnover of £5m.
Its customers include Tesco, Morrisons, local authorities, hotel chains and the Royal Household.
