Holly Francis returns to the industry with newly-created YCE role

Holly Francis is now YCE’s first of head of sales and marketing.

Leeds-based distributor YCE Catering Equipment has appointed Holly Francis to the new role of head of sales and marketing.

Starting last month, her primary role is now to drive sales outside of the projects side of the company, which is YCE’s main bulk of business. This includes one off sales, and smaller schemes work.

Furthermore, she has been tasked with creating a new marketing strategy for the company.

Prior to this, Francis was with Gamble Foodservice Solutions for 10 years, where she held several positions: distributor account manager, various marketing roles, and latterly the sales manager and national account manager. She was also there previously when it was known as Imperial Catering Equipment, and prior to that, worked for WR Refrigeration.

Latterly she had an 18-month stint at her family’s furniture company, Stone Butterfly Interiors, as its new business manager.

However, she missed the foodservice equipment industry and so started the ball rolling for returning in July when she contacted YCE’s business development and marketing director, Nick Brassett, having encountered him and the YCE sales team while at Gamble.

Francis recalled: “After I had contacted Nick to keep an ear out for me for any roles in the industry that he might know about that would suit my skills, he actually invited me in to see him and the directors.

“It was then that Nick and the directors had said that they were considering me for a certain role within their business

“I was very open to the possibility of working for YCE, as it is a company I have always respected. It has always done a great job in supplying innovative kitchens, and the team are equipment ‘geeks’, which I really like about them.

“Nick had always been someone that I’ve looked up to in regard to his extensive knowledge of foodservice and innovation, but most importantly, YCE has a great reputation within the industry.”

Of her new role, she said: “YCE has always been very good at what it does, but it has never shouted about it. But now it’s time to pop our heads up and show the industry that we are here and we mean business.”

While Brassett commented on her appointment: “We are really delighted to welcome Holly to the YCE team and feel she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm that can only benefit our business moving forward.”

  1. Congratulations on your new post. I noticed the role is sales & marketing, Can I suggest that you get your team to optimise your Google my Business listing. Currently it does not show your website link, upload some business relevant photos of your showrooms, staff, vehicles etc. Anything to reinforce the brand. I would also ask clients to post Google reviews. All this will boost your GMB results and general SEO. Yes you are in 3rd behind Nisbets but any boost finds more customers!
