Hobart alerts industry to £18,000 kit theft

Hobart Warewash is advising catering equipment dealers to be wary of accepting equipment worth some £18,000, which was reported as stolen last week after being delivered to an end user site at Thorpe on the Hill, Lincolnshire.

The equipment, a Hobart twin basket AUPT-10A serial no. 866038162 and SD-H softener serial no. 102529 were brand new, factory packaged and on pallets when they were taken.

The manufacturer is advising anyone who suspects that they may have come into contact with the items to call them immediately on 0844 888 7777.

Tim Bender, UK sales director – warewashing at Hobart UK says: “We want to make dealers aware, especially those in the Lincolnshire area, that these items have been stolen and that there is a likelihood they will be offered for resale.

“We obviously want the items returned, but, even more, do not want distributors getting themselves into hot water for unwittingly accepting stolen goods. Once again, do take note of the model names and serial numbers and contact us if you suspect that you have been offered the items.”
