Hatherley Commercial Services’ engineer Sam Clarke has become the first candidate on the First Choice Group’s managed learning programme (MLP) to complete all his ACS assessments and become fully gas safe accredited.
First Choice presented him with an award and gift voucher for becoming a registered gas engineer.
Martin Dagnall, technical and training manager, First Choice Group, detailed: “I was very proud to present Sam with a technical achievement award and personal gift from First Choice Training.
“This award was to recognise Sam’s hard work and dedication during his MLP to become a gas technician. Sam has been the first candidate on our MLP to complete all his ACS assessments and become fully gas safe accredited.”
Clarke was one of the first candidates on the programme and took just over 1 year to complete this and become fully accredited. This consisted of an approximate total of 5 weeks training at First Choice’s training centre in Cannock and then working with colleges to produce a portfolio of work evidence.
Dagnall revealed: “During this time we recognised great development in Sam as he matured into a well-rounded knowledgeable gas technician.
“The support from HCS and Sam’s colleges has been vital to his success and continued development, we wish Sam a long and prosperous career in our industry.”
He concluded: “I would like to also take this opportunity to thank the service companies who are supporting their technicians through our MLP. We have now seen 30 candidates enrolled with several technicians like Sam now fully accredited.
“It’s great to see younger enthusiastic guys and girls securing their future in our industry.”
