Hansens names directors behind buy-out

More details of Hansens Kitchen Equipment’s new management structure have materialised following the company’s emergence from administration.

The distributor’s eminent yellow and blue showroom re-opened for business this week after being purchased by a group headed by Scott Hansen, the grandson of founder Tom Hansen.

Scott has taken over as managing director with support from Chris Dann, owner of an event production company, and John Baczkowski, a former insurance broker.

Both individuals have now become directors of Hansens.

Hansen said: “I am delighted to have been able to save the Hansens name with the support of Chris Dann and John Baczkowski, who are both vastly experienced businessmen. With the help of [accountancy firm] Chantrey Vellacott DFK, we were able to secure the deal to buy the shop out of administration and re-open it within a week.”

Hansens has sold catering equipment and catering supplies from the Fulham Road shop since it moved into the premises in 1956, ten years after the business was founded.

“Our primary focus is to get the shop back up and running and then to begin to develop the product range for both commercial and domestic requirements,” said Hansen.
