Hampshire distributor, Andrew White Commercial Kitchens (AWCK), has relocated within the county to a unit in Bishops Waltham.
The move happened during the second lockdown and the premises includes a meeting room which allows staff to present at a safe Covid distance to its clients or remotely through its newly-installed technology.
AWCK’s Lesley McPhee detailed: “In September 2019 our landlords R G Warwicks & Sons gave us notice that the whole site was closing down in September 2020 for complete redevelopment.
“We were given the option of remaining in the building where our offices were located on the basis that we could take over one of the new units to be built, but we took the decision to move to new premises that would provide us with office as well as warehouse storage space.”
MD Andrew White spotted a suitable unit for rent while taking his dogs for their regular walk, signed a deal, and the move was finalised last year.
McPhee underlined: “The new unit provides us with spacious office accommodation as well as ample warehouse facilities. It also has the added bonus of being in a locked yard.
“Having the warehouse allows us to have all materials and equipment delivered to us before we start on a site. This makes our kitchen installation process far more efficient in that our engineers can load up with all materials as when they are required on site rather than wasting time waiting for deliveries.
“Despite having no intention of leaving our old premises and the added concerns that the current Covid situation brings, we are really pleased that we have made the move. We are nicely set up to look forward to a busy and successful future in the commercial catering sector.”
