I.Grunwerg and its supplier partner Global Knives have revealed they will be playing a part in a major catering competition between teams from the Armed Forces this month.
The pair will be supporting the Royal Navy as they go head-to-head with the Army and the RAF in the Exercise Joint Caterer competition finals, which takes place on October 14-16.
Over three days, the Naval Service Culinary Arts Team (NSCAT) and Catering Services (CS) personnel will compete against their counterparts in a series of cooking challenges.
Sophie Newton, Grunwerg’s brand manager for Global knives UK, said: “We are very proud to be supporting the Royal Navy in these competitions and it will be a very exciting event. Having sponsored them previously and seeing the high standard of cooking that was done, I am looking forward to seeing them battle it out against the Army and RAF, who rightly so have also got to the finals.”
Meanwhile, Global is also gearing up to celebrate 30 years in business by releasing a series of special edition anniversary knives.
The one-off chef sets and gift sets, which are available for a limited time, mark 30 years since the iconic knife brand was introduced to the market by Komin Yamada.
His mission was to develop a range of knives that were truly new and revolutionary, using the best materials available as well as the latest manufacturing techniques.
