Gratte Brothers cuts carbon footprint by 23%


Ongoing steps to limit the environmental impact of its work are having the desired effects for Gratte Brothers.

The company, which operates a division specialising in catering equipment schemes, confirmed it has reduced its carbon footprint by 23% since it was first measured by an independent auditor in 2008,

Following the initial measurement, Gratte Brothers has launched a series of initiatives designed to cut carbon emissions across its group.

This includes the introduction of a driver training programme, the installation of speed limiters to vans and a reduction in vehicle engine sizes. It has also implemented energy-saving programmes within its offices.

“We are delighted that these initiatives have been successful and further measures will be implemented over the coming years to ensure that our carbon footprint continues to fall,” the company stated.

As well as catering equipment supply, Gratte Brothers provides a complete range of electrical, mechanical and security services.

The group, which has its head office in London, employs more than 650 people in total and boasts sales of £100m a year.
