Gram UK has conducted a search to find the most environmentally-conscious hotel in the UK, crowning Radisson Blu Edinburgh the overall winner.
The refrigeration manufacturer set up an independent panel to assess the entries it received before honouring Radisson Blu Edinburgh for putting sustainability at the top of its agenda.
Gram said the hotel’s staff had embraced green credentials, while efforts had been made to reduce the use of chemicals and cut the number of beverage deliveries.
The competition goes hand in hand with the publication of the hotel edition of Gram’s Green Paper, which draws conclusions and results on green issues that are relevant to the sector.
Radisson Blu Edinburgh’s prize for winning the competition is a Gram refrigerator from the Energy Technology List.
“This prize will be welcomed by our kitchen team and will certainly not look out of place in our newly refurbished kitchen in early 2012,” said Steve Valentine, regional chief engineer at the hotel.
