Golf club refurb helps Baron to a hole in one

Cooking equipment manufacturer Baron is celebrating the recent deployment of its latest suite at one of the country’s top golf clubs.

The Ali Group brand, which is brought into the UK by Universal FSE, provided a one-piece-top centre island suite for the new catering facility at Formby Golf Club near Liverpool, host of the 2013 Brabazon Trophy and venue for the Seniors Open Final Qualifier.

The suite form the centrepiece of a major kitchen refurbishment project that the golf club carried out under the guidance of Andrew and Elaine Powis of Sterling Foodservice Design.

As well as undertaking an operational review, Sterling was involved in the specification of a rotating Baron combination oven that pivots on a purpose-built support. The five-grid unit is used in various positions to provide the kitchen with greater flexibility.

The one-piece suite, meanwhile, was craned into the premises by C&C Catering Equipment, which co-ordinated the fit-out. It includes electric fryers and an inset chrome griddle.

Sterling’s Elaine Powis said the club was delighted with the way in which its catering facilities have been transformed by the new equipment.

“We have used the Baron standard ranges before as we like their quality, performance and reliability and had no hesitation when looking for innovation and energy savings than to talk to Universal Foodservice Equipment about the Baron options for this project,” she said.
