Catering equipment provider G&M Supplies today issued a “value-for-money price match promise” to all UK pubs.
The Cumbria-based outfit expressed its desire to support the pub trade following a year in which ‘Micropubs’, ‘pound pubs’ and ‘tax equality’ have emerged as key trends in the industry.
The rise of the budget bar continues to have a knock-on effect across the market place, but G& M — which has supplied the bar trade for the best part of three decades — said it was prepared to meet the changing needs of landlords.
It is promising not to be beaten on the cost of kit.
“The rise of the budget pub has led to increasing numbers of publicans looking to purchase quality equipment with lower overheads,” said a spokesperson for the firm.
“We’ve seen an increase in the number of start-ups, many of which are micropubs, asking us about leasing options, too. In many respects, our low price model mirrors that of the pub industry as a whole — we’re constantly adapting our prices to give publicans a fair deal.”
Through G&M’s Price Promise, the company vows to beat any published price for a catering equipment product offered on the same terms in the UK.
According to its terms, the price will not be beaten where there are ‘hidden extras’, such as delivery charges. The competitor must also have stock availability at the time of ordering.
