UK refrigeration supplier Genfrost is launching a display cabinet that it claims is completely unique in its design.
The ‘Catania’ unit, which is produced by its manufacturing partner ES System K, is the first on the market to feature 200mm radius glass with spherical corners, according to the firm.
Many patent-protected solutions have been developed for optimal display and food storage conditions, but ES System K believes it has come up with a product that ticks all the boxes.
Thanks to optimised methods of construction, the cabinet achieves 25% energy savings versus standard cabinets, while an innovative hydraulic glass system facilitates front glass opening and closing. A special coating on all elements in contact with food is also applied to create an internal antibacterial system.
Lewis Bourne, managing director of Genfrost, says it is the visual qualities of the unit that really stand out from the crowd. “The 200mm curved glass radius with spherical corners is the first in the world and it guarantees a perfect view of exposed products. Long and exhaustive tests have been carried out to reach an optimal level of ergonomics. The counter is also extremely easy and convenient to use."
Bourne said that the focus on the aesthetic design hadn’t come at the expense of functionality, as high humidity and slow airflow ensures meat and other food contents do not dry out and are always kept fresh.
The Catania is available in both plug-in and remote versions. It comes in six different sizes up to 3830mm including wall-ends.
Genfrost now serves as the UK sales office for LAKO Lighting, whose products are shown in the photo above. Instead of using interior lighting, the cabinet features much more effective exterior meat lighting, which appears as an energising green colour when looking at the lamp.
"Lighting is a very important aspect for any dealers interested in atrticulating the benefits of the concept," added Bourne.
