Gateshead services ace seeks engineers nationwide

Gateshead equipment maintenance firm Service 2000 is searching for commercial catering engineers to join the company as it seeks to expand its coverage of the UK.

The company says candidates must be able to demonstrate at least five years experience in the commercial catering sector and possess the main qualifications relevant to the industry.

This includes Comcat 1 to 3, while Comcat 5 and Fgas are a “preference”, according to the firm.

Service 2000 is an authorised service partner of Rational and also serves as a service agent for manufacturers such as Electrolux, Foster, Gram, Blodgett, Lincat, MKN and Moorwood Vulcan.

The move to expand its business follows a recent revamping of the company’s digital identity.

Peter Adamson, business development manager at Service 2000, told Catering Insight that with an increasing number of enquiries and leads coming through the web, it decided to invest in refreshing its website and bolstering its social media presence.

“We decided to relaunch our website to bring it up to date and increase our online profile, as we recognise the benefits of social media,” he explained. “Having built a business on developing relationships with customers we wanted to expand this by utilising tools such as Twitter and LinkedIn.”

Service 2000 has Gas Safe, ISO 9001, Safe Contractor and refrigerant handling certifications, and Adamson insists that strengthening its online profile is another element of providing a good service to customers.

“On our website we have concentrated on making navigation simpler to help clients find the information they require more quickly and we have also endeavoured to make it easier to contact us,” he said.
