Garners notches up 30 school kitchen projects in a year

A commercial kitchen equipment company has reached the end of a huge kitchen roll-out programme encompassing secondary and senior schools across the UK.

Garners Food Service Equipment has recently wrapped up projects in eight schools under the PF2 (priority funding) scheme, bringing the total number of education projects it has worked on since last summer to 30.

Garners has assisted existing schools with bringing their aged catering facilities up to date, as well as new-build academies looking for high-grade kitchens that will last. On top of the public sector, the university market has boomed for the company in recent years as well.

Adnan Halimic, project manager for many of the PF2 school fit-outs, started out at Garners as a designer nearly 10 years ago and has seen the vast efforts made to stay ahead of the game.

“Schools and universities have been our bread and butter since day one at Garners, and we’re obviously very happy to carry on our reputation of excelling in this market,” he said.

“With the advent of building information modelling implementation in the UK, we experienced some teething pains when getting used to the new methods and software, but alongside that came new opportunities for all, particularly in the education market.
Garners has now handed over its last school of the summer, with eyes already on 2018’s cohort.
