Tim Fisher, the MD of Nottingham-based distributor, Garners Food Service Equipment, will be leading a team raising money in the MacMillan Longest Day Golf Challenge.
The event involves playing four rounds of golf in one day on or around the longest day of the year.
Fisher and three friends have teamed up to fundraise for the cancer support charity, and will be undertaking their own Longest Day challenge at Whetstone Golf Club, Leicestershire on 16 June.
Under the moniker of ‘The Old Slogs’ the quartet will be playing 72 holes at the 6,182yd-long course, which means overall they will have to walk a considerable 24,728yd/22.5km/14miles.
It will be an early start for the team, beginning at 4.30am, with approximately 15 hours of play estimated.
The team’s JustGiving fundraising page was set up by founding member, Brian Arkle. The initial £200 target has been surpassed and they are now pushing to massively outdo this.
Fisher and the rest of ‘The Old Slogs’ would like to express their gratitude to anyone and everyone able to donate to their cause. If you would like to contribute, click HERE.
