Garden centre in £500k high-end kitchen revamp


C&C Catering Equipment has completed the ‘Cafe Theatre’ catering facilities for Redfields Garden Centre in Fleet, a project worth nearly £500,000.

The project was designed by Alan Roper, managing director of Blue Diamond Group, which owns the garden centre chain. The installation period for the whole scheme was just four weeks.

With a philosophy of providing guests with more than just another cafeteria, the Redfields’ dining experience aims to provide visitors with an element of theatre as well as a delicious menu selection.

This means kitchens are placed front and centre in their schemes, rather than being hidden away, and all food is cooked to order.

“The food offer must be visual to entice people to upscale what they proposed to buy from a sandwich to a hot meal,” said Roper.

Equipment was supplied by Dawson, Charvet, Lincat, Falcon and Maidaid while Counterline carried out the fabrication work for the front-of-house areas and CEDA for back-of-house.

C&C said that it worked closely with the client and end-user, meaning it was able to adapt designs as the equipment was installed and meet the short completion deadline in place.
